Dri Alves is a Brazilian born in Rio de Janeiro. A true carioca, who from an early age was exposed to the rich musical and multicultural scene of Rio. Her parents would regularly take her to blocos, samba schools, pagodes and cultural events at her neighborhood and throughout the city.

With a degree in Education, specializing in Immigration and Interethnic Relations, Dri Alves has more than ten years of experience in her domain. After moving to Montreal in 2008, she started spreading the Brazilian cultural diversity in Montreal and the rest of Canada through her love for Samba.

As an artist and a passista, Dri Alves works with other independent dancers and some companies. She’s also one of the official dancers of the restaurants Le Milsa and Senzala in Montreal.

Dri Alves has danced in different situations and events such as: Brazilian Day Canada, Carnaval Brésilien d'été à Montréal, Festival Les Goût des Caraïbes, Grand Burlesque Show 2012, Festival International Rythmes du Monde, Beach Soccer Montreal 2012, TOHU Cité Des Arts Du Cirque, weddings, nightclubs, school programs, projects in retirement homes, office parties, among others. In addition, she was also part of some TV productions like: Globo Internacional (Planeta Brasil), TVA (Salut Bonjour; Les Défis Des Champions), Vtélé (La Cantine), Radio Canada (news) and RDS (news).
